AICTE and NHIDCL Launch Internship Program for UG and PG Students Nationwide
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL), a Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, have entered into a strategic agreement to offer internship opportunities to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students across India.
The agreement was signed by Nitin Sharma, Executive Director of NHIDCL, and Dr. Buddha Chandrasekhar, Chief Coordinating Officer of AICTE. Dr. Krishan Kumar, Managing Director of NHIDCL, also launched an online portal for the internship program. This initiative is designed to provide valuable experiential learning opportunities to UG and PG students, with a special focus on regions such as the North-East, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
The program, which is set to run for a period of five years, will benefit students by providing exposure to the infrastructure sector, specifically related to highways and road development. The agreement outlines the collaborative roles of AICTE and NHIDCL: AICTE will provide the technical support for the platform, while NHIDCL will handle programmatic and non-technical aspects.
Both organizations emphasized their commitment to working together to promote skill development and enhance opportunities for students nationwide. An official statement highlighted that the collaboration aims to meet the national objectives of skill-building and providing students with industry-relevant learning experiences.
The online portal, launched in the presence of officials from both organizations, will facilitate seamless access for students interested in the internship program.
