MEIL Commits Rs 200 Crore for Telangana Skills University Construction
In a significant boost for the Telangana government's ambitious Skills University initiative, Megha Engineering Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) has pledged Rs 200 crore to support the construction of the institute's campus. This assistance comes under the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program and will ensure the development of a state-of-the-art facility.
MEIL’s Managing Director, Krishna Reddy, led a delegation that met with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at the Secretariat to discuss the project. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, along with several ministers and MP Anil Kumar Yadav.
During the discussions, MEIL confirmed that the Skills University campus will be built to world-class standards. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between MEIL and the state government, formalizing the company's commitment to the project.
In August, Chief Minister Reddy conducted a 'Bhumi Puja' on a 57-acre site near Meerkhanpet in Kandukur mandal to mark the beginning of construction. The state government aims to equip the campus with advanced teaching facilities to enhance student learning.
Reddy expressed gratitude to MEIL for their generous contribution and commitment to the project. In addition to academic buildings, the construction will include hostels, workshops, and classrooms.
Architectural designs for the university have already been prepared and presented to MEIL during the meeting. Reddy urged officials to finalize the designs within a week and make preparations to commence construction by November 8. The Chief Minister assured the company of the state government’s full support throughout the process.
