Suraasa Secures $6 Million Funding to Enhance Global Teacher Workforce Development

Suraasa, a platform dedicated to teacher workforce development and global mobility, has successfully raised $6 million in a funding round led by Reach Capital. This round also attracted participation from ETS Capital, NB Ventures, TSM Ventures, TRTL Ventures, and other prominent strategic investors.

The funds will be utilized to improve teacher quality, equip educators with globally recognized skills, and facilitate their integration into diverse educational systems around the world. According to the company, this investment will also enable Suraasa to scale its operations internationally, building robust teams and advanced systems to amplify its impact. The aim is to connect more teachers with world-class opportunities.

“The global shortage of qualified teachers is a critical challenge, and addressing it requires innovation and a steadfast commitment to the future of education. These partnerships highlight the impact we are making, and together, we will work towards a world where teachers are empowered to thrive in any classroom, anywhere,” said Rishabh Khanna, Founder and CEO of Suraasa.

The company provides competency-based skilling programs and collaborates closely with schools across borders to understand their specific hiring needs. Suraasa matches highly skilled Indian teachers with these schools, ensuring that the needs of both parties are met.

“Schools in the U.S. and around the globe are facing severe teacher shortages, and Suraasa is addressing this issue by training a global teacher workforce. Reach Capital was drawn to Suraasa for this reason and was excited to invest after observing how the team respects, celebrates, and dignifies the teaching profession,” remarked Jennifer Carolan, Managing Partner at Reach Capital.
