Tata Technologies to Launch 50 Advanced Technology Centres (ATC) in Telangana
Tata Technologies Limited (TTL), part of the Tata Group, has announced plans to establish 50 advanced skilling centres across government ITIs as part of its investment initiative. The company will deploy master trainers to guide the development of new courses. In collaboration with the state government, Tata Technologies aims to upgrade government ITIs into Advanced Technology Centres, offering both long-term and short-term courses in Industry 4.0 trades to help bridge the existing skill gap.
This decision was made during a meeting between Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Tata Sons chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran at the World Economic Forum 2024 in Davos. The Chief Minister highlighted Tata Group’s ongoing and future business plans for Telangana, noting that the group is a crucial partner in the state’s economic development. "We are pleased with TTL’s decision to set up advanced tech centres in government ITIs," he stated.
Chandrasekaran emphasized the strategic importance of Telangana for Tata Group’s expansion. "We are committed to growing our presence in Telangana and look forward to collaborating with the new government," he said. Tata Sons has a significant and diversified presence in the state, particularly through Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which employs over 80,000 people in Hyderabad, making it one of the largest IT employers in the region. Additionally, Tata Advanced Systems Limited has successfully established multiple joint ventures with global defense and aerospace firms, including Boeing, Sikorsky, GE, and Lockheed Martin, with plans for further expansion in the strategic sector.
Furthermore, the Tata Group is actively working on expanding its Air India fleet and intends to enhance both domestic and international connections from Hyderabad, positioning the city as an important transit hub.
