CBSE Mandates CCTV Installation in Schools for 2025 Board Exams
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a new CCTV policy for the upcoming Class 10 and 12 board exams in 2025. The board has mandated that all schools designated as exam centres must have closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance installed in their classrooms. This measure comes as approximately 44 lakh students are expected to participate in the CBSE Board Exams 2025, both across India and in 26 countries worldwide.
To accommodate this large number of candidates, around 8,000 schools will serve as examination centres.
In the official notice, the CBSE stated, “All schools designated as examination centres must have CCTV facilities. Schools lacking this infrastructure will not be eligible to serve as exam centres.” The notice further explained that to ensure examinations are conducted smoothly and fairly, a CCTV policy has been developed, which is attached to the announcement. Schools that do not have CCTV installed but wish to be considered as exam centres are directed to comply with this policy.
Regarding the examination schedule, the CBSE is expected to commence the Class 10 and 12 board exams around mid-February 2025, following the pattern of previous years. However, the detailed timetable for the CBSE Board Exams 2025 has yet to be released. Students will be able to download the timetable from the official CBSE website, cbse.gov.in, once it is made available.
