Empowering Parenting: CBSE Hosts Workshop to Enhance Students' Well-Being
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) recently held a workshop titled "Parenting for Students' Well-being" at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in New Delhi. This initiative aimed to equip approximately 150 principals from CBSE schools in the Delhi/NCR region with effective strategies to enhance the emotional and psychological health of students.
The event commenced with a ceremonial lamp-lighting, followed by a heartfelt performance by the school choir. In his opening remarks, Sh. Himanshu Gupta, Secretary of CBSE, underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in promoting student well-being. Rahul Singh, Chairperson of CBSE, addressed the evolving challenges faced by parents and emphasized the necessity for schools to actively support families.
Drawing from personal experiences, he articulated that parenting is a dynamic journey with responsibilities that continually change. He highlighted the value of learning from the wisdom of different generations and stressed the importance of instilling values that foster a child's happiness. The workshop included expert-led sessions focusing on the critical role of parenting in shaping students' emotional and psychological health.
Rohit Kumar, a Personal Growth Facilitator, provided insightful perspectives on the mental and emotional needs of students. Sonia Pillai, an Executive Coach and Interpersonal Skill Trainer, shared practical strategies to promote open communication between parents and their children. Anuradha Joshi, Principal of Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, offered valuable insights into supporting students' emotional needs.
The workshop concluded with an engaging Question & Answer session, allowing principals to discuss specific challenges and share insights. Aligned with the objectives of the National Education Policy 2020, this workshop reinforced CBSE's commitment to the holistic development of students by empowering school leaders with the knowledge and skills to assist parents in creating a nurturing environment for student well-being.
