CBSE Partners with ISTM to Launch Trainers Certification Course
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has teamed up with the Institute of Secretariat Training and Management (ISTM) to offer a Trainers Certification Course for CBSE Resource Persons. This initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which mandates 50 hours of continuous professional development for all teachers and head teachers.
According to a recent CBSE communique, this collaboration represents a major step in empowering educators. The CBSE has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ISTM, a body under the Department of Personnel & Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, Government of India. The agreement facilitates a 2-day Training of Trainers (ToT) Certification Course.
The course integrates key components of the District Training Scheme (DTS) and the Development of Teachers (DoT) with an emphasis on Integrated Approaches to Child and Adolescent Development. The pilot program for this curriculum was recently launched at the Academic Block of ISTM, Olof Marg, New Delhi by Rahul Singh, Chairman of CBSE.
Under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, CBSE aims to train approximately 15,000 Resource Persons (RPs) in multiple batches. This initiative will help address the professional development needs of 1.3 million teachers across CBSE-affiliated schools.
