Anand Mahindra Appointed Chairman of Young India Skills University
The Telangana state government has issued a gazette notification confirming the appointment of Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra & Mahindra Group, as the Chairman of the Board of Governors for Young India Skills University.
Additionally, Srinivas C Raju, widely known as Srini Raju, a distinguished industrialist and educationalist, has been appointed as a member of the board and designated as the Co-Chairman of the university.
This announcement follows Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's recent visit to the US, where he revealed Mahindra’s forthcoming appointment. According to the gazette notification, Anand Mahindra and Srini Raju will serve as Chairman and Co-Chairman, respectively, for a one-year term.
Prior to his US trip, Chief Minister Reddy met with Anand Mahindra in Hyderabad to request his acceptance of the role.
The state government has enacted the Young India Skills University, Telangana (Public-Private Partnership) Act, 2024, which took effect on August 14.
In accordance with this Act, the government deemed it necessary to appoint a chairperson and members to the Board of Governors to lead the new university.
The official notification confirming these appointments was published in the Telangana Gazette on August 14.
