CBSE alerts schools to discrepancy in theory-practical marks detected by AI

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently conducted an in-depth analysis of the academic performance of students across approximately 500 affiliated schools. Utilizing cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) tools, the board discovered a significant disparity between theory and practical marks among more than half of the students.

This revelation has sparked concerns within the educational community, highlighting the critical importance of meticulous assessment practices during practical examinations. In response to these findings, CBSE has taken proactive measures by issuing a comprehensive advisory to the implicated schools.

The advisory serves as a call to action, urging educational institutions to review and enhance their internal assessment procedures to ensure fairness and accuracy in evaluating students' practical skills.

"The objective," as emphasized in the CBSE advisory, "is to establish a more robust, transparent, and dependable mechanism that not only upholds the integrity of the assessment process but also adds substantial value to the students' academic journey."

This directive underscores the board's commitment to fostering excellence in education and ensuring that every student receives a fair and equitable evaluation of their abilities. By prioritizing equity and precision in the evaluation of practical examinations, CBSE aims to elevate the overall quality of education imparted in its affiliated institutions, thereby enriching the learning experience for students across the board.
